5 NEWS UPDATE: Vacant Home Destroyed in Fire

UPDATE 8:45 PM 10/12/13:

Officials said a fire that destroyed a vacant home on Saturday night in Barbour County is under investigation.

They said no one was living at the home. It caught fire around 7:30 PM on Route 57 in Elk City.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters have turned the investigation over to the State Fire Marshal's Office.

ORIGINAL STORY 7:45 PM 10/12/13:

Barbour County officials are asking people to avoid Route 57 in the Elk City area because of a fire.

The call came in around 7:30 PM on Saturday that a two story house was on fire.

We have a reporter headed to the scene, and will update you when we hear more.
