Bangladesh:
The 8- story structure housing several garment factories, suddenly collapsed Wednesday morning, on the outskirts of the capital city of Dhaka. Rescuers searched the rubble for hundreds of missing people. Some workers say they were hesitant to go the factory Wednesday, after the building developed such severe cracks. It made the local news.

Bangladesh is known for lax construction standards.

Chile:
A massive forest fire tore through a port city, destroying dozens of homes and charring nearly 150 acres. Crews battled heavy flames as plumes of smoke poured from villages. Hundreds of families had to evacuate. No word on the cause.

Colombia:
Authorities say they've seized some 6 tons of pot, and arrested 6 people, in 3 separate drug busts in the capital city of Bogota. Police report hauling in more than 200,000 pounds of marijuana so far this year.

Mexico:
A robot may have helped scientists discover ancient tombs underneath some Aztec ruins, north and east of Mexico City. Archeologists originally sent the device into the underground tunnels, to see if people could enter them safely. The robot's camera reportedly revealed 3 chambers below a temple at the site,  which is more than 2,000 years old.
