A local rotary club came through big Tuesday morning to help a non-profit agency who helps feed senior citizens in Harrison and Doddridge counties.

The Bridgeport Rotary donated $1,500 to the Bi-County Nutrition Program for their blizzard boxes. Every year around Thanksgiving, the program sends boxes of seven meals to their homebound citizens in case the center is ever closed for an extended period of time due to weather problems. Each box costs about $20.
"This year they were over $8,000 for these boxes and this is money that we don't have extra and this is where I go into the community and try to have people donate to us and the Bridgeport Rotary, like I said, gave us the $1,550," said Bi-County Nutrition Executive Director Wanda Carrico.
"We identified that need and designed a project to raffle off an iPad and all the proceeds going to support the Bi-County Nutrition Program," said Bridgeport Rotary President Nathan Rakestraw.

If you'd like to donate to Bi-County Nutrition, call the office at 304-624-4075.
