Frontier Communications crews are repairing an underground cable that a utility contractor damaged during a pole installation project in the 900 block of Willey Street north of downtown Morgantown.
The damage affected service to local customers and customers in the Mileground area.
General Manager Chip VanAlsburg said Frontier crews will work around the clock through the weekend to restore service. He noted that one lane of traffic is closed so crews can gain access to the cable.
With the Christmas parade scheduled this evening, VanAlsburg recommended local traffic avoid that block of Willey Street.
