Representative Shelley Moore Capito visited Clarksburg Friday afternoon for a tour of the city and to meet with local Republicans.
She discussed some of the ways Clarksburg is moving forward with city councilwoman Margaret Bailey and also addressed some of the challenges. One topic that came up almost right away was the problems veterans have been facing at the VA Hospital. Capito said she's very concerned about the long wait times and hopes to enact legislation that will maximize the resources that already exist.
"We passed a bill this week that says you can use private resources. We have some private resources here in Harrison County; I think that we should be able to work with the VA to meet the challenge, to make sure that our veterans get the care that they deserve and have earned, and that we as a grateful nation would want them to have," Capito said.
Capito also said she will definitely be taking this issue to Washington with her.
Jun 14, 2014 at 9:58 AMStay on this Ms. Capito. It appears the democrats don't want to own up to what is happening at our VA clinics around the country. Apparently they don't care. This scenario at the VA hospitals/clinics is NOT ACCEPTABLE! Where's Governor TOmblin, Manchin at on this issue? SILENT as usual. They don't appear to take interest in issues that affect REAL citizens. Only issues that affect them. Sickening.
