Clarksburg City Council Swears in Newly Appointed Member

Bob Caplan officially became the newest member of the Clarksburg City Council Thursday evening after an official swearing in ceremony.
 
One week ago he was appointed by council to fill the seat former councilman Jim Hunt held for the last 27 years.
 
Hunt was at the meeting, and said with a laugh that it all still felt a little awkward for him.  But, he'll now consult other cities and travel around the country. 
 
Caplan was born and raised in Clarksburg.  After serving in the military, he moved back to the area and now owns a jewelry store.  He's been active in the Chamber of Commerce and other civic organizations.
 
"I look forward to serving the people of Clarksburg, and please, I'm an open book.  Let me know if there's anything on your mind.  I'll be glad to help you," says Caplan.
 
His first actual council meeting will be February 7th.
