Harrison County is growing everyday, especially Clarksburg and that means the Uptown Welcome Committee has been busy bringing in new businesses.
The committee has welcomed around five new small businesses, and expects to welcome even more. Members from the Chamber of Commerce said the group is important because it connects new shop owners with the community and shares their mission and goals to revitalize Clarksburg.
"Just to make sure that they're aware of the incentives through the city of Clarksburg, but also to be involved in the community and help get to know people and build their client base. It's a foot in the door for them and a step up in the community for them as well," said Kathy Wagner, Chamber of Commerce President.
If you're interested in opening your own business, they're hosting an entrepreneur event on Monday April 22nd. It will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Liberty High School.
