A courageous little girl in our area is battling some serious medical issues, after going through a liver transplant at the age of two.
Gabbi Cook my be all smiles in these pictures, but she and her family are facing some hard times. Gabbi was diagnosed with liver cancer back in August.
Since then, she's went through a transplant and numerous surgeries for blood clots. Now, a close family friend is selling pink carnations for $2.00 each to help raise money. The fundraiser is called Pink Out for Gabbi.
Bonnita Pena said, "I know that it would have to be hard for her family to be going through what they're going through. I can only imagine having a child fighting for her life like Gabbi is. I say everyday that she's my hero, she's my inspiration, because I honestly believe she has more strength and more fight in her than most adults would have."
The flowers are being sold until January 29th. If you'd like to buy a flower, you can e-mail Bonita at pinkoutforgabbi@gmail.com. Or you can click here for Gabbi's Facebook page.
You can also mail donations to: Teresa Martin 121 Grafton Street, Mannington, 26582
Bonnita Pena 24 Arrow Lane, Mannington, WV 26582
Backwoods Flowers N' More is partnering with Gabbi's family for the event.
