Crews in Randolph County spent several hours Tuesday afternoon trying to get to a man that apparently badly cut himself while hunting.

It all started around 11:00 a.m. about two miles off of Middle Mountain Road in the Monongahela National Forest.

The hunter was trying to gut his deer, but ended up cutting his leg.

He also went into shock, and hypothermia had set in.

It took about two hours, but firefighters finally got the hunter out by pulling him up the hill in a basket.

He was taken to Davis Memorial Hospital.

We have no word on his condition.
