Even though the polls are showing a tight race between President Obama and Governor Romney, they're usually a good indicator of who will most likely win.
Political scientists said right now there's an interesting break between national and state polls. National polls are pretty much even, but show Obama has a slight edge. While state polls show Obama has a stronger advantage.
Professors said Romney has to win Ohio to win the election.
"Barack Obama has a few more paths to winning than Mitt Romney does. Mitt Romney's road to victory runs through Ohio, for sure. We often get caught up in "our vote doesn't matter" but, especially at the state level, lots of races come down to just a few votes. So, your vote really makes a difference," said Patrick Hickey, WVU Assistant Professor of Political Science.
Hickey also said Obama could lose Ohio and still win the election, but then he would have to win either Colorado, Virginia, or Florida. All three are a toss up, but have a slight lean towards Romney.
