The economy is continuing to rebound and grows, a new report says fewer people filed for unemployment last week, showing signs the labor market is steadily improving.
The report says last week, 14,000 fewer people filed for unemployment, which means less people are being laid off and also shows the labor market is getting stronger.
Economic experts agree this is a great sign, and this, along with the continuing creation of jobs, will give people more confidence and get the post-recession economy back on track.
“Overall, this is consistent with a lot of good news that we've seen in the labor market in recent months. We see reduction in jobless claims, meaning fewer people are being laid off, we see just an overall significant rise in the new jobs that are being added every month. The last six months have shown tremendous improvement,” said Dr. John Deskins, Business and Economics Research Professor at West Virginia University.
