Another remarkable story to tell you out of the health field. A young boy in California who suffered serious heart and brain injuries, after an accident caused him to be life-flighted to a local hospital for treatment made a remarkable recovery, and the reason may even surprise you.

Doctors at the hospital in California gave 16 year-old Grant Virgin a high dose of Omega-3 fish oils, a dietary supplement that many of you take everyday to help with brain function.

5 News wanted to see what you think about the boy's recovery, and you think it's definitely a miracle.

"I do believe they are helpful. I'm not sure to what extent, but I think they help with the joints and things like that," said Nancy Stinard, Clarksburg resident.

When the boy originally got to the hospital, doctors thought he wasn't going to make it through the night, and he was even in a coma.

The family believes the fish oil is ultimately what helped him make a full recovery.

Some of you think if there's something out there over the counter, you should try it.

"My opinion is if it works, you should try it, but I still think you can take too many supplements," said Linda Bonfantino, Monongah resident.

While some people have made full recovery from taking fish oils, others have not been so lucky. Doctors are still trying to figure out how fish oils help with recovering from brain injuries.
