Lincoln High School will have a new principal next year.

On Tuesday, the Harrison County Board of Education voted unanimously to approve Superintendent Susan Collins' recommendation of Jimmy Lopez to take over the position on July 1.  Lopez is currently principal at South Harrison High School.  He is the former mayor of Lumberport and will replace Brad Underwood, who is retiring after this school year.
Some in the Lincoln feeder area supported a current assistant principal at Lincoln to take over the top job, but Lopez was the choice of the board.

The board also voted not to fund a turf project for Robert C Byrd High School's football field at this time.
