BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (AP) - Construction and renovations are continuing on a project to convert the former United Hospital Center in Bridgeport into a behavioral health facility.
According to a news release, the Highland-Clarksburg Hospital has a $34.8 million construction loan to cover the renovation costs. Work started Jan. 15.
The Charleston Gazette reports that the hospital was approved to operate a 150-bed facility that will employ 294 people.
The financing includes a loan from USDA Rural Development and permanent financing through Huntington National Bank.
