Eight months: That's how long John Skruck has been on the run from law enforcement, but on Saturday, that all came to an end, when U.S. Marshals found him in New Mexico.
Skruck apparently ran Hot Stuff, Cool Things in Buckhannon and Clarksburg, a store that supposedly sold bath salts. He failed to appear for his trial in federal court in May of last year, and since then, U.S. Marshals have been looking for him all across the country.
He was apparently found in a hideout in New Mexico's northern mountain region. Skruck's original arrest was part of one of the biggest bath salt raids in the country.
"This is a big arrest, especially for this area. He was a large distributor of synthetic drugs in our area and a big money seizure was taken from him. It's one less less person we have to worry about at night," said Terry Moore, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal.
He'll go before a New Mexico federal magistrate on Monday to begin the process of having him returned to our state to stand trial.
