It looks like a handful of folks in Morgantown will have to spend the holidays looking for new jobs.
That's because a judge has given the green light to Hostess to close and sell all of its assets. That means it's just a matter of time until their outlet stores, like the one in the University City, close their doors for good.
On Tuesday 5 News told you company officials and members of the bakers union were in court to see if they could come to an agreement. That came a week after executives blamed their decisions to close on a crippling strike by those workers.
Both sides couldn't come to an agreement, and on Wednesday a bankruptcy judge approved their original plan to shut down.
5 News was told that outlet stores will stay open long enough to sell off their remaining inventory, and then the plan is to close them.
That news left folks like David May, whose gone to the store since he was a kid, a little sad.
"(I remember) just going there with my parents when I was little and getting our Hostess stuff," May said. "Things there are half-price. that's why that place is always full."
There's no word yet on how long the outlet in Morgantown will stay open.
