Kids Have a Super Bowl Celebration of Their Own

Lots of Super Bowl parties were going on around the area Sunday, and one of those was a more family-oriented event. Simpson Baptist Church in Bridgeport had their annual Super Bowl Celebration for kids and families.
There was a Madden tournament, air hockey, and of course, all the Super Bowl snacks you could imagine. They even rated the best Super Bowl commercials.
Organizers said they usually have a huge turnout, but most people opted for staying off the slick roads. Still, it's a good alternative for people who want to avoid the typical Super Bowl parties.
Youth Pastor Rick Garavaglia said, "We do the Super Bowl parties to provide a place for students to come out that is a safe place to be. A place where they don't have to worry about facing temptations like alcohol or drugs. We allow families to be able to come out so that students can be there with their parents or even be away from their parents for some of them."
The church also has an after-school program on Tuesdays for kids in the neighborhood, and they don't have to attend the church to be a part of it.
