Main Street in Bridgeport was closed for a few hours Thursday evening so folks could welcome in the holidays.
Their eighth annual Light Up Night took place where the city's Christmas tree lights were turned on, followed by fireworks. The Associated Businesses of Bridgeport holds the event to allow businesses to thank the community for their support.
They were on hand giving away food and presents, and there was no lack of music of candy. Organizers say the event get bigger every year.
Santa and Mrs. Clause were even there to hear what the kids want to see under their tree this year.
