On Wednesday President Obama unveiled his plan to curb gun violence in our country. Amongst those proposals was the biggest change to gun legislation in the last twenty years.

That announcement was apparently good news for gun shop owners.

Bill Cummings, the owner of Marstiller's gun shop, told 5 News since the President made his announcement they've done about 10 times the amount of sales they normally do.

Immediately after the tragedy at the elementary school in Connecticut there was a public outcry to make sure it wouldn't happen again.

Wednesday President Obama announced his ideas on how to make that happen. Included those plans were orders to reinstate and strengthen the ban on assault weapons and limit magazines to 10 rounds.

Cummings said the phone at their Morgantown store has been ringing off the hook for orders since the idea for stricter gun laws was tossed around. The announcement from President Obama Wednesday has boosted sales even more.

Cummings also said folks aren't only looking for the so called assault rifles President Obama is looking to ban. He said they're looking for anything they can get their hands on.

"We've sold 25 or 30 guns," Cummings said. "The phone calls? We've had hundreds of them. The other thing that's picking up is our concealed carry classes. "
