The summer has nearly come and gone and that means a new school year for kids of all ages. So, how are parents and students feeling on the eve of a new year?
Some schools are already underway and many begin on Monday and Thursday.
So, how can you best prepare your kids to start the year with success? Many parents were out and about this weekend stocking up on new clothes and school supplies. It's important to be organized to start the year to avoid falling behind.
We spoke with some parents and students to hear how they feel about the upcoming year.
"It's her first time, I don't totally know what to expect but I'm trying my best to," said Kellie Fitzpatrick. "I'm really excited, she's excited. She's actually calling it high school instead of preschool right now. But I'm definitely very excited to see all that she can learn."
8 year old Alexandria from Harrison County spoke about being back at school, "It's good because being with my friends is nice. I havn't been able to see them a lot over the summer."
WVU, Fairmont state, Glenville State, West Virginia Wesleyan, Braxton, Marion and Randolph County schools all begin classes Monday.
