An anonymous tip led to the discovery of 84 meth labs in one Lewis County residence. That's the largest amount of meth labs found in one location ever in the state.
Sheriff's deputies arrested Nicholas Grant Cutlip, 50, on Monday night. He has been charged with 21 counts of operating a meth lab.
The department apparently got a search warrant for the Mulberry Avenue home in Weston and found 84 labs inside. Two of those labs were cooking when officers arrived.
"The meth labs were located in one residence and it was quite a staggering number. As a matter of fact, we were advised by the EPA that that is the most that they've ever had to take out of a police department or sheriff's office ever. Apparently, the last highest record was 48," said Lewis County Sheriff Adam Gissy.
Because of the amount of meth labs discovered, the case will likely go to federal court.
