An accident in Randolph County sent a man to the hospital in a helicopter Monday evening.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. on Route 33 at the red light by the Route 250 intersection. State police said a man turned right towards Belington, but the light was red. He crashed into an SUV heading the opposite way.

The man was thrown out of his car, and he was later flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was conscious at the time, and he's expected to be ok.

The other driver wasn't hurt.
