There has been a recent wave of drug arrests in our area lately, and many of you said you couldn't believe how many people get arrested for drugs throughout the state.

A lot of people said they think newer drugs like meth are a huge threat.

According to police, the average person has all the ingredients necessary to make meth in their home. Some people in our area said they think people arrested for drug abuse should receive harsher penalties.

Others think there's not enough long-term recovery care available and said they believe the state doesn't have enough resources to provide it.

Lewis County resident and former teacher Dauna Hawkins said, "Sometimes it's the people, the kid that you would never expect.  You would just never dream that it would affect them."

Lewis County resident Wendy Richards said, "I think there needs to be more positive activities for people to get into."

Lewis County resident Sheila Lewis said, "I encourage all law enforcement to keep up the good work."

Some people in our area said they think the lagging economy is one of the biggest reasons why our area has been plagued recently.
