A Rivesville man has been arrested over accusations that he cut another man on his head and back with a 10 inch kitchen knife.

Police said Michael Hayes did that, after the man tried to pull Hayes off of a woman that he was choking on the floor. That same day, Hayes also apparently broke into a home on Halderman Street and took more than $7,500 from a safe.

Hayes is charged with malicious assault, daytime burglary, and grand larceny. He's in the North Central Regional Jail on a $150,000 bond.
