Decorations for Christmas seem to be popping up everywhere already and Christmas music is starting to play on the radio. But what everyone seems to be most excited is when Santa Claus comes to town.

Saturday was the first day Santa made an appearance in Harrison County and people of all ages were excited.

" HO HO HO. Merry Christmas," said Santa Claus.

"What did you tell Santa you wanted for Christmas? A pretend puppy dog, a black one," said Darby and Emory Haddix.

There was a raffle last week giving kids the opportunity to win a train ride with Santa for his arrival and afterwards there was a puppet show with Elmo and friends.

"My little sister, she's two years old. She won in the raffle a free day with Santa and a train ride. I think that was pretty cool because instead of walking here, we just got on the train and it took us here," said Robin D.

Families who didn't win the raffles still came out Saturday to get their yearly picture with Saint Nicholas and for the kids to tell him what they wanted for Christmas.

"Ride on the train with Santa. The baby doll, baby alive," said Jaylynn Robinson.

"Spy Glasses. They video tape and take pictures. I know they exist, I've seen them," said Robin D.

Santa seems to be able to put a smile on everybody's face, not matter their age.

"I got more excited than these little kids did. I've gotten my picture taken with him and my grandkids and everything for quite a few years,"  said Peggy Barnett, Shinnston.

All of the kids were waiting anxiously to see Santa and afterwards he gave them all a coupon for free ice cream.

"I was so excited to see Santa. I want a Barbie house. I just feel excited," said Mable Nice.

Saturday was the first day Santa came to visit the Meadowbrook Mall and the place was packed. Be sure to visit Santa before Christmas.
