The Silver Alert issued for Edward Earl Richards has been lifted.

Police have confirmed to 5 News that Edward Earl Richards, 70, was found dead in his van by family members Thursday morning.

Richards was last seen when he dropped his wife off at work early Wednesday morning. Police said his family was out searching the area, when they spotted the van in the Pizza Hut parking lot along West Main Street in Bridgeport at around 10:00 a.m. Thursday.

Right now, police say it looks like Richards died from natural causes. An autopsy is being done to confirm the cause of his death.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A Silver Alert has been issued for an elderly man out of Harrison County.

Edward Earl Richards, 70, was last seen dropping his wife off at work at the Meadowbrook Mall on Wednesday morning. He has since missed two appointments and hasn't made contact with anyone.

Richards is described as a white man, 6'1" tall, and weighing 230 pounds. He has hazel eyes and gray hair. He also has a scar on his chest.

Richards is said to suffer from a heart condition and sleep apnea, and all his medications are still at his residence. Richards is also known to carry a semi-automatic handgun.

He was last seen driving a 1999 black Ford Econoline van, with the license plate number 8LE 219. He was wearing a blue jacket, white t-shirt, and khaki pants at the time as well.
