Two different organizations in Fairmont that help out the less fortunate all year-round need your help this holiday season.
Soup Opera

Last year, Fairmont's Soup Opera served thousands of meals to more than 30,000 people who otherwise would've gone hungry. That's why they're asking you to donate some of these food items:
  • peanut butter
  • packaged meals
  • mac & cheese
  • pancake mix
  • pastas
  • sugar
  • dried beans
  • soups
  • spaghetti sauce
  • hamburger helper
  • hamburger
  • diapers (all sizes)
  • rice
  • cereals (hot & cold)
  • coffee
  • syrup
  • canned fruits
  • canned veggies
  • canned meats
  • spaghetti
  • jams & jellies
  • creamer
  • cooking oil
  • hygiene products
The Soup Opera will also be collecting clothes and new toys to give as Christmas presents to hundreds of families throughout the area. You can also volunteer your time to help wrap presents. To find out more, call the Soup Opera at (304) 367-1098.
Union Mission
The Union Mission in Fairmont is also asking for food and clothing items this holiday season. But they also need volunteers on Thanksgiving and Christmas to help deliver meals to less fortunate families that can't make it out of the house.
To find out what food and clothing the Mission is most in need of, and to find out how you can give back on each of those holidays, you can give them a call at (304) 363-0300.
