A Stonewood couple is facing 22 counts of child neglect creating substantial risk of bodily injury or death after doctors found several bite marks and bruises all over a two-year-old's body, as well as a large bump on her head. That bump was x-rayed and doctors discovered that her brain was bleeding.
Deputies said 21-year-old Kelsey Turner called 911 Sunday because her daughter was not acting normal. Doctors at UHC made the discoveries once the girl was brought there.
Deputies questioned Turner and her boyfriend, 52-year-old Frank Cherubino.
Turner said Cherubino was being mean to her daughter and shoved her a couple times this weekend. She also said she witnessed him burning the girl with cigarettes when she wouldn't go to sleep.
Cherubino had a similar story, but he said Turner did it.
Both are in the North Central Regional Jail with bonds set at $1,100,000.
