Students in Harrison County were driving around a safety course on Wednesday, trying to make a little money of their own.

AAA and the Governor's Highway Safety Program hosted the Teen Safe Driving Competition at Robert C. Byrd High School. Groups of students from different Harrison County and Marion County high schools got behind the wheel to go through the obstacle course made up of everyday driving experiences. The goal of this event is to promote awareness of driving procedures and reinforce safety tips.

East Fairmont High School student Dillon Murphy won this year's top prize. He walked away with $500, a large trophy and some bragging rights.
