"I feel 100!"
A local woman reached a milestone in her life on Saturday, that many people don't get to experience. She turned 100 years-old, and her family threw her a huge surprise party in Stonewood at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
She lived through WWI, The Great Depression, and witnessed the world change drastically over the years. Her name is Isabella, and she celebrated her birthday with about 200 of her closest friends and family.
They came in from all over the country, and one of those was her 98 year-old sister Francis.
Her family said it was amazing to see everyone come together.
"We're just so happy to have the family that we do have, because we all stick together and we've all stayed in touch with each other over the years. And as you can see, with all these people, it's a tribute to what she's done over the years for us," said
her Grandson Sam Ferrella.
Her youngest son gave an emotional recount of what it was like growing up with her as a mother.
"She was strict, but she was the best mother," Joe Grilli said as he wiped tears from his face.
He added, "Some of the cousins that are here today, we haven't seen for like 30 to 35 years. So, this is really a remarkable venue that wer'e doing here for my mother. It's just remarkable."
Isabell has six children, fourteen grandkids, and numerous great-grandkids.
