The Upshur County Salvation Army kicked off their bell ringing campaign Friday morning.

It started at 10:00 a.m. at the Buckhannon Wal-Mart.

Several volunteers were out ringing bells and collecting donations from people out shopping.

They'll be at several stores including the Wal-Mart and Dollar Tree.

You can donate any day except Sunday until Christmas.

Volunteers told us they raised $21,000 last year, and hope to top that number during this holiday season.

"Unfortunately there's a lot of people that have a very tough time during the holiday season, whether it's Thanksgiving or Christmas. All of the money we raise ringing the bells stays in the county to help people out," said volunteer, J.D. Thomas.

If you'd like to volunteer, you can call Roberta Lynch at (304)-613-7780.
