WVU President James Clements delivered his annual State of the University Address Monday afternoon. He started by congratulating the WVU football team but stated that the celebration from students will not be tolerated.

President Clements stated that he wants the students and the community to celebrate when they have a win but he believes there are much better ways to do. He said he simply doesn't understand why people would set something on fire as a form of celebration. He said all it does is diminish the success of the students, faculty, staff and alumni.

"We must and we will continue to partner with the whole community to put an end to this kind of disgraceful and dangerous behavior. I want you to know the university is taking immediate action to identify and discipline any students who were involved," said President Clements.

He plans on increasing alcohol education, policies, and campus security in hopes to prevent these situations from happening. He also focused on the many achievements of the school as a whole.
