The WVU College of Business and Economics received the largest corporate gift in its history and the Athletic Department secured funding for weight room upgrades from BrickStreet Insurance Tuesday.
The company announced a $4 million donation to WVU.
$3 million of the donation will head to the university's College of Business and Economics. They money they're getting will go towards improving the schools entrepreneurship programs.
"if these young minds develop what I call the "entrepreneurial bug" that's going to stay with them," Jose “Zito” Sartarelli, Milan Puskar Dean of the College of Business and Economics said. "They're going to be innovative and they're going to create their own businesses. As they create their own businesses they're going to create jobs for the state."
The rest of that donation is going to the university's Department of intercollegiate Athletics where it'll be used for upgrades to equipment at the Puskar Center.
"The guts of that building haven't really changed since it opened up in 1980's," Oliver Luck, WVU's Athletic Director, said. "That's a while ago. This very generous gift from Brickstreet will help us upgrade it."
