With all this snow there have been quite a few accidents out there, so 5 News wanted to see how you can be a little safer.
The main advice fire fighters told 5 News was just to slow down on the roads. They said they thought people finally started listening to them since they didn't have many calls Saturday. Now driving wasn't their only concern, but so was being aware of your home heating source at all times to make sure it doesn't overheat and catch fire. Clarksburg's Captain Green said when you're shoveling your sidewalk to clean the snow off of your local fire hydrant just in case of a fire, they can help quicker.
"Whenever the weather gets bad people need to slow down and take their time because when you get in a hurry eventually going to get into an accident. Anytime you heat by space heaters around your house make sure you keep curtains and clothing away from space heaters. And don't let children mess with them incase they would knock them over," said Captain Jim Green, Clarksburg Fire Department.
5 News also went out to Monongalia County today to see how people felt about the weather there and overall they seemed to enjoy it.
"Well, I feel pretty excited actually. When I woke up this morning I saw the snow and just wanted to go outside," said Scott Husk, Monongalia County Resident.
"It's so exciting. I love it. I love snow. The back roads are dangerous a little bit, but I think it's fine as long as people drive safe," Mona Amin,Monongalia County Resident.

Remember to stay safe and warm in these winter months.
