The Opening Statement: WVU vs. Towson

An acceptable effort and acceptable execution with a result that remains unacceptable for the Mountaineers in Week 1. Dana Holgorsen hopes the intangibles he saw against Alabama will return this Saturday when the 'Eers host Towson, with a different result on the scoreboard.

You will hear countless times leading up to kickoff that Towson is the defending national runner-up in Division 1-AA. That's true. But this Tiger team has new personnel at many spots. 25-hundred yard rusher Terrance West left after his junior season and is now with the Cleveland Browns. The guys up front have also moved on. Towson dropped their opener last week to Central Connecticut State, 31-27.

Twice last week, F-C-S schools upset an F-B-S school, most notably, Iowa State was dominated by North Dakota State. The Mountaineers got all they could handle from William and Mary last fall. Those are cautionary tales the coach hopes are not needed.
