West Virginia surpasses 2,700 total cases of COVID-19

CHARLESTON, W.Va (WDTV) - West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources officials reported 18 new cases of COVID-19 in the Mountain State Friday morning.

That brings the total count to 2,712.

As of 10 a.m., health officials say there have been 161,867 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 2,712 total cases and 92 deaths.

Date from DHHR said 713 cases are currently active and 1,907 people recovered.

DHHR officials also reported that 29 people with COVID-19 are hospitalized, with nine people in ICU and two people on ventilators.
