West Virginia surpasses 3,000 total cases of COVID-19

CHARLESTON, W.Va (WDTV) - West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources officials reported 27 new cases of COVID-19 in the Mountain State Thursday morning.

That brings the total count to 3,006.

As of 10 a.m., there have been 177,287 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 3,006 total cases and 93 deaths.

DHHR officials say 585 cases are currently active, and 2,328 people have recovered.

According to data from DHHR, 23 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized. Five patients are in ICU and three patients are on ventilators.
