Health officials report 56 new cases of COVID-19 in W.Va. Wednesday morning

CHARLESTON, W.Va (WDTV) - West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources officials reported 56 new cases of COVID-19 in the Mountain State Wednesday morning.

That brings the total count to 4,463.

As of 10 a.m., there have been 215,450 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 4,463 total cases and 97 deaths.

DHHR officials said 1,371 cases are currently active and 2,995 people have recovered.

According to data from DHHR, 59 patients are hospitalized. Seven patients are on ventilators, and 24 patients are in ICU.
