Huggins Helping Launch McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative

Will provide mentorship and opportunities to minority students seeking jobs in athletic administration

MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) - WVU men’s basketball head coach Bob Huggins is lending a helping hand beyond the sidelines.

Huggins, along with 35 college coaches, is helping launch the John McLendon Foundation’s Minority Leadership Initiative. He will provide mentorship and opportunities to college graduates seeking careers in athletic administration. Huggins will join other coaches in college basketball, such as Kentucky’s John Calipari, Tennessee’s Rick Barnes and Pittsburgh’s Jeff Capel as mentors in the initiative.

Those interested in applying for future leader positions must have a bachelor’s degree. Applications open on Aug. 1.
