Bridgeport’s Williams tied for second after day one of WV Amateur

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va (WDTV) -Bridgeport’s Mason Williams has returned to The Greenbrier in 2020 as he look to win back-to-back West Virginia Amateur titles.

The 101st WV Amateur championship began on Tuesday in White Sulphur Springs.

Williams shot a 68 in the opening round and is in a three-way tie for second with Milton’s Noah Mullens & Hurricane’s Philip Reale at 2-under.

Poca native & University of Charleston rising junior Mitch Hoffman holds the top spot after day 1, shooting a first round of 67 and 3-under
