Kenneth “Joe” Parmer, 59, of Weston, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston.He was born in Weston on May 9, 1961, a son of the late William Edward Parmer and Regena Mae Brown Settles. On April 7, 1999, Joe married the love of his life, Janet Kay Parmer and they shared just under 19 years of marriage before her passing on March 29, 2018. In addition to his parents and wife, Joe was greeted at Heaven’s Gates by two siblings: Frances Mahalia Settles and Glen Dale Parmer.Forever cherishing their memories of Joe are two children: Ryan Parmer and wife, Jeanna, and Regena Parmer both of Weston; three grandchildren: Ezekiel, Addison, and Zoey Parmer; four siblings: William “John” Henry Settles and wife, Thelma, of Weston, Billy Jean Horton and husband, Doug, of Morehead, KY, Edward Lee Parmer of Weston, and Jennings “Ray” Parmer of Jane Lew; two step children: Margaret and James Montgomery; two step-grandchildren: Johnny and Cassie; and several nieces and nephews.Joe graduated from Weston High School and spent many years traveling to different states working as a landscaper. He eventually landed back home in the Wild and Wonderful West Virginia where he spent the last ten years tending the family farm. Joe loved being outdoors where he could hunt, fish, and just enjoy walking the family property. More than anything Joe loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.Family and friends will gather at Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2020. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. in the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wease Day officiating.
