Bridgeport pulls away from Buckhannon-Upshur, 15-7

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Bridgeport struck for 15 runs on 18 hits as the Tribe downed Buckhannon-Upshur to open AAA Region I, Section 2 play, 15-7.

With the game knotted at 4 in the 5th, the Tribe broke for 7 runs in the frame to build an 11-4 advantage.

Outfielder Maci Cook went 3-for-5 with 4 RBI and Lyda Sandy went 3-for-4 with a run scored.

The Tribe advances to play University on Wednesday. The Hawks downed Preston, 11-0. The Bucs will host the Knights tomorrow looking to avoid elimination.
