Haller’s gem guides Lincoln past Elkins, 8-0 in six innings

Cougars improve to 21-0 and advance to section semifinals

SHINNSTON, W.Va (WDTV) - Delaney Haller threw a complete game shutout with 11 strikeouts as top-seeded Lincoln blanked Elkins, 8-0 in six innings in the second round of the sectional tournament.

Haller also went 2-for-2 at the plate with an RBI and three runs scored. Hannah Ferris was 2-for-4 with two runs scored for the Cougars. Kaitlin Stone had the lone hit in the game for the Tigers.

LHS remains undefeated and improves to 21-0 overall. The Cougars advance to play third-seeded Robert C. Byrd tomorrow for a spot in the section championship game.
