MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) - Outside of Senator Shelly Moore Capito’s Morgantown office on Thursday evening were those from as far as Wheeling who came to rally, as they said they are calling on Capito.

The purpose for the calling, the Thrive Act.

People in attendance are hoping members of Congress and the Biden Administration will urgently pass the legislation that incorporates the Thrive Act.

That piece of legislation is dealing with the Infrastructure proposal president Biden put out.

Jenny Craig, an organizer with Our Revolution WV, said this is something our local and national leaders need to consider.

“This would not just bring jobs in traditional infrastructure, like we think of, like roads and bridges, but it would expand access to affordable broadband, clean renewable energy jobs, energy efficiency, jobs in agricultural and land restoration, which is really important here in our state,” she said.

“It also invests in the care economy, so childcare, healthcare and elderly care,” Craig added.

Capito has been speaking with President Biden over the last week.
