Bridgeport cruises past South Harrison, 9-2 in pre-regional tune-up

Hawks’ winning streak snapped at 14 games

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Bridgeport rolled past South Harrison, 9-2 Wednesday in a pre-regional tune-up game.

The Indians outhit the Hawks, 12-5. Nathan Paulsen went 2-for-5 and hit a three-run home run in the third inning. Drew Hogue also had two hits for the Indians. South Harrison’s Nathan Radcliff was 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in the second inning.

The loss snaps South Harrison’s winning streak at 14 games. The Hawks won Class A Region II Section I and will play at two-time defending state champion Moorefield in the first round of the regional finals next Monday.

Bridgeport is the champion of Class AAA Region I Section II. The Indians hit the road to face Morgantown in game one of regionals next Monday.
