BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Happy Friday everyone!! But what a wet and stormy one it is. We’ve had heavy showers and thunderstorms across our area all day and because of that, we are still under Flash Flood Watches into this evening. Along with that Flash Flood Warnings continue to be issued around our area when the flood threat is imminent. These thunderstorms causing the flooding have rainfall rates of ½ to 1″ per hour. As the NWS says, it is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rain. As we end the evening, many of these storms will have eased and overnight waters will begin to recede. Saturday is looking much better with just the chance of some afternoon showers popping up across the area, but temperatures will be well into the mid to upper 80′s. The start of Sunday is looking fine, but towards the end of the day expect to see more showers and thunderstorms popping up. I think you’ll like the majority of next week as cooler and drier weather pushes into place with highs into the 70′s.

Tonight: Dense fog forming in places: Low: 63

Saturday: Foggy start then partly cloudy: High 87

Sunday: Scattered storms later: High 84

Monday: Partly cloudy: High 85
