BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Bike riders gathered at RG’s Almost Heaven Harley-Davidson in Bridgeport in support of the Humane Society of Harrison County and their annual Hogs 4 Dogs motorcycle ride event.

Despite the pouring rain organizers were still able to hold their pre-registration event with live music and pizza for all that attended.

“This is the pre-entry party for Hogs 4 Dogs the bike ride is next Saturday June 19 and kicks off at Lodgeville Road,” owner of the Bridgeport Harley-Davidson store, Mark Gricewich said.

Riders were able to sign up for the event at the party and also received a gift card for the shop.

The organizer of Hogs 4 Dogs, Traci Nicholson was who got Gricewich involved in the event.

“20 years ago we were looking for a summer fundraiser to help out the animals. At that time, the shelter was really in need of new facitlity and supplies,” Nicholson said.

When she came up with the idea for the event, she reached out to some of her motorcyle riding friends to see if they would be interested.

“It’s been one of the largest fundraisers here in West Virginia in the riding community,” she added.

Nicholson said if people missed the pre-registration event, they can still register the day of the event from 10 a.m. to noon at Brickside on Lodgeville Road.

The event cost $20 for riders, $5 for passengers and $10 dollars for the after party held at Brickside at 5 p.m.
