BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - A man was sentenced on Monday for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy near Fairmont Senior High School and Fairmont State University, officials say.

William Charleston, 41, of Detroit, Michigan, was sentenced to 57 months of incarceration for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy, a release from United States Attorney William Ihlenfeld says.

The release says Charleston pleaded guilty in June 2021 to one count of “Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin and Fentanyl in Proximity to a Protected Location.”

Charleston admitted to distributing heroin and fentanyl near Fairmont Senior High School and Fairmont State University in August 2020, according to Ihlenfeld.

The Three Rivers Drug Task Force investigated the case.
