W.Va. inmate pleads guilty to assault, sentenced

An inmate at United States Penitentiary Hazelton pleaded guilty to an assault and was sentenced on Friday, according to officials.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - An inmate at United States Penitentiary Hazelton in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia pleaded guilty to an assault and was sentenced on Friday, according to officials.

Timothy Terrazas, 33, pleaded guilty to one count of “Assault with a Dangerous Weapon with Intent to do Bodily Harm” and was sentenced today to an additional 24 months of incarceration, according to a release from United States Attorney William Ihlenfeld.

U.S. Attorney Ihlenfeld says Terrazas admitted to assaulting another inmate in March 2021 in Preston County.

The Bureau of Prisons investigated the incident.
