BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) - An inmate has escaped from the satellite campus adjacent to Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Beckley, according to the Fed. Bureau of Prisons. The inmate’s name is Kevin Davis. He also has ties to Southwestern Virginia.

Chief Deputy Eric Breeding with Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office says he was made aware of the escape early Monday morning. Breeding says Davis, 32, is from the Buchanan County area, which leads law enforcement to believe he may be headed their way.

Davis is a white male with brown hair, green eyes, is 6′0″ tall, and weighs about 210 pounds.

The United States Marshals Service (USMS), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and other law enforcement agencies were notified of Davis’ escape, according to the Fed. Bureau of Prisons. An internal investigation is underway.

Davis was sentenced in the Eastern District of Tennessee to a 27-month sentence for Conspiracy to Distribute Five Grams or More of Actual Methamphetamine.

“We are working with our federal partners in trying to help locate that individual in case he does try to make it back this way,” Breeding explained.

FCI Beckley is a medium security facility for male inmates in West Virginia. More than 1,600 inmates are currently being held at their Beckley facility. The satellite camp at FCI Beckley is a minimum security facility, and 77 male offenders are housed there.

Anyone with information about this individual should contact the United States Marshals Service at (304) 347-5136.
